Jens Hetzel
I have found that every photographer has a favourite type of subject matter for their work, one that brings true inspiration and satisfaction. For me, that subject is Historic Australia. I enjoy photography of different subjects in a variety of locations, conditions, and situations, but no matter what I am photographing, nothing brings me more fulfilment than trying to capture the spirit and atmosphere of our Aussie history.
I have been a “serious” photographer for 4 years. My only formal photography training, is a fourteen week Black & White Photography and Dark Room Techniques Course. And from my own trial and error in trying to take the best pictures I can.
I have been taught much about photography by talking with other photographers like my mentor and friend, Colin Beard. The assistance and advice that I have received from Colin is unmeasurable. My collection of photographs would not be here was it not for Colin.
I am a die-hard SONY & MINOLTA user. My photographic equipment consists of:
Sony A100 Digital Camera
Minolta Dynax 7 Film Camera
Minolta Dynax 5 Film Camera
Mamiya C220 Medium Format Film Camera
Plus various lenses
I hope you are able to feel the spirit and atmosphere of my photos, as I have capturing them.
Jens
